Route 50 is the road that used to carry the name Lee Jackson Memorial Highway. The county announced on June 15, 2023 that the name would change to Route 50 in Fairfax County on July 5, 2023, and said the address change would happen automatically in county records.
Historic review
What does the Sully Historic Overlay District mean for a roof near Sully?
Richard Bland Lee began building Sully in 1793, according to the county, and in 1958 the Federal Aviation Administration condemned half of the property to build Dulles Airport. The county's district page covers that history.
The Sully Historic Site at 3650 Historic Sully Way is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and its buildings date from 1794 to 1801. The site is a museum. The overlay district is a separate county zoning idea around it, and it is not a neighborhood name.
The Architectural Review Board's own FAQ says approval applies to exterior alterations that require a building permit, even where a subdivision already has its own architectural committee. Ask the board whether your parcel is inside the district before you plan work. An HOA committee, if you have one, is a separate approval.

FFXnow reported in March 2024 that the Westfields plan approved by the Board of Supervisors in 1985 zoned about 1,027 acres to mostly industrial districts, and that the area is primarily developed with offices. Westfields is a business park, not a residential neighborhood.
The same article describes a 69,679 square foot office building on Newbrook Drive, built in 1999 and vacant for years, that a developer proposed to replace with housing. Why is the Fairfax permit wording not the same as Loudoun's?
